19th Birthday

It's been a while. And I have to say, I'd rather read blogs than write blogs. But right now, I need to do something other than watch TV shows. I'm almost sick of watching them.. I've watched soooo many that I think my eyes have gotten worse :'(So my 19th birthday (which was a while ago) was, in one word... memorable. I think it was one of the best birthdays I can remember and it was also where I received the most amazing gifts from the best people in my life Ü
Em! It's so strange seeing you with long hair!
The night before my birthday, I had a small dinner with a few close friends at Fridays Riverside on Eagle Street Pier. I distinctly remember giving an embarrassing speech on how 'my mum asked me what I wanted for my birthday, but I realized I already have everything I want (NOT TRUE), and it made me realize that I just wanted a nice dinner with a couple of good friends." It was such a cocky speech.. but I made Em tear up, so my job here is done :)
I can no longer remember what I ordered but I believe it was some sort of linguine with seafood? Not too sure, but it didn't taste that great, I wish I had ordered the steak or salmon instead.
Everyone was really really sweet. I got really thoughtful gifts and I just feel quite grateful that I actually have close friends to celebrate with me, and just not.. friends? I was on a strict budget, so I couldn't invite everyone I wanted to.. but I think that's okay. Some of the dent guys were super super sweet and bought me a cake from Le Bon Choix! I love chocolate and I love macarons, so it's a perfect combination.
I actually cannot believe I'm 19 now. I feel like this is such an old age to be. I'm in my final year as a teenager and I really don't want to grow up. I want to be young and naive forever, or I'm just not ready to grow up and be all adult and independent :(
The next day, the Thursday, my actual birthday, I went to Uni for a one hour lecture!
My sister picked me up and took me to the Barracks. We originally were going to dine at French Twist but I saw the prices and baulked! But now that I've seen the amazing Instagram photos of the fruit drinks, I regret not going there.
Anyhow, I chose Pizzeria 1889 and it turned out to be a good decision! The pizzas were nice, but they were a little bit oily. Also, my sister ordered us a little bit of alcohol despite the fact, we're both light weights whom both go tomato red. So when we got home, it looked like we drank sooooo much, when in actual fact.. we only had a tiny bottle of cider... between us.
And mum was like "Did you take her drinking?!!?" #HAHA #sadlyf #datAsiangene #lightweights #tomatoes4lyf
On the night of my birthday, Matt surprised me along with Pri and Anna by taking me to Sofitel! We went to the Thyme buffet, and my gosh, it's amazing. I think, the last I came, it was Christmas Eve and I had such a wonderful dinner, and this was equally as enjoyable. It was such a good surprise to see everyone - to see my best friends get along with my boyfriend. #thatchocolatefountain
When Matt picked me up before suprising me with Sofitel, he joined in with singing me a Happy birthday along with my family as well as the cake cutting. It was a bit strange seeing my family and him together doing more... familial things?
I also had a dinner with just family at Little Nyona that following weekend. I was craving Peking duck.. so I got Peking duck haha. It was a good night :)
