15 months

I no longer can remember the specific order of events that's been happening since my one month hiatus.  But surfing through my camera roll, there has been some memorable things I need to jot down.

17/10/13

15 month anniversary. Matt was being really sweet and we hadn't seen each other for a while, so we decided to do something extra special for our 1 year and 3 months. And so he surprised me with this beautiful bouquet of flowers and to dinner at Sono Portside.
I actually remember most of the night, so this may be detailed and quite boring. So firstly, I walked out to meet him and he usually opens the car door for me, but he didn't this time. Which was a bit strange for me.. so I thought I'd be sweet and open his door for me. But he said "NO! Don't!" And I was shocked by his.. vehemence? So I guess I meekly walked to my door and opened it, and lo and behold, there was this big bouquet of roses on my seat.

On the drive there, he tried to subtly ask me which fine dining Asian places I'd been to since he wanted to take me somewhere I'd never been before. And so on the ride there, I narrowed it down to Japanese. And I told him I'd eating at Sono before, and he got really sad HAHAH AWW. But he took me to the portside one, and I'd only ever been to the city one before. So he got happier again.
I remember this was a Thursday night that we went, so it was so quiet with only a few diners :)

We ordered an entrée and a starter. I can no longer recall the names of the dishes but they were quite nice! But the quantities were so tiny... welcome to fine dining. For our main we ordered a... hotpot thing for 2. It was really delicious. They also have such amazing service and such stunning views. The Brisbane River at night is soo beautiful. It looked like an almost mysterious liquid black colour, rather than it's usually murky poo-coloured mess that it is in daytime.

Our attendant came and cooked our hot pot meal for us and we struck a non-awkward good conversation. And so, when they brought our desert, they also gave us a sparkler and said "Happy anniversary, you two are such a happy couple!"
And honestly, that was so sooo sweet. Oh for dessert, we each got a green tea ice cream. But in all honesty, I've had better green tea ice cream at the fraction of the cost. I think it's because their green tea ice cream is 'Marble green tea', so it's diluted with vanilla ice cream.

All in all, I had an amazing night and it was all thanks to Matt who planned it so well.

Also, this photoshoot my auntie paid for, came in the mail HAHAHA. It was me trying on various traditional Asian costumes with ridiculous poses - with chopsticks, umbrellas, fans, etc. It's actually so hilarious. My sister won't stop laughing at me.
My auntie thought I was really 'Westernized' since my Chinese is so horrible, so she arranged this photo session where I basically wore every single type of Asian costume from 'olden days', so I can better appreciate my heritage.
