I had this sudden intense pain near my abdomen/kidneys. And it actually hurt so much, I had tears well up in my eyes. My mum made an 'emergency' appointment with a doctor, but it was an over the phone conference since most doctor's are closed past 6pm on a weekend. And she didn't want to take me to a hospital :( I described my symptoms and the doctor said I either had ______ in which I needed to give a sample and/or I needed to take an ultrasound to make sure it's not something more serious.
So early Sunday morning, we went to the doctors and they took a sample of stuff from me. And I got my results yesterday, and there is no need for an ultrasound!!! It is honestly the biggest relief. And being put in that circumstance makes you appreciate everything that has been given freely to you in life - healthy body, healthy mind, healthy life. And it makes me think of all the bad foods I've eaten, all the late nights I've had, and yes, some of the horrible things I've said and thought.

After the doctor's appointment, we got some prescribed medication to get pain killers. I didn't feel like studying at all or doing anything remotely academic related. So Mum and I decided to go to the Regional Flavours Festival in Southbank. It was a really good time, just bonding with mum, and as corny as this sounds - just appreciating life. We spent quite a bit of money buying food, but we did eat a lot of free samples.
